Antonio Dawson is a detective assigned to the Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department under Sergeant Hank Voight. His investigations sometimes overlay with those of Manhattan Special Victims Unit.
In 2017, Dawson left the Chicago PD to become Chief Investigator of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. (Chicago Justice)
Later that year, he left the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and rejoined the Intelligence Unit. Some time after, Dawson started taking painkillers to remedy a shoulder injury, although this later proved addicting to him; he goes to rehab, only to relapse not long after, and moves away from Chicago to Puerto Rico to seek help.
