Avery Jordan is a sports reporter whose rape and impregnation by her cameraman Richard Purcell.
After Purcell is found guilty of stalking and sentenced with time served, he files for joint custody of Jordan's baby Theo. When he is given visitation rights, Jordan uses a private jet to run away with her baby to a country where extradition would be difficult, to keep Purcell out of their lives. (SVU: "Legitimate Rape")
