Dr. Charles Anthony Webb was a psychiatrist in New York City.
He would often perform work for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, evaluating the mental health of suspects and testifying as an expert witness regarding his findings. ADA Ron Carver would sometimes use his services for his cases.
He was single, however, and actively seeking companionship. He became infatuated with Sara Lindstrom, and the two began seeing each other. Linstrom, though liking him as a friend, did not have the same level of feelings.
In an attempt to win her affections, he decided to help her sister Julie Feldman, who was failing to win custody of her daughter Sophie during her divorce. Feldman falsely believed Sophie to have been sexually abused by her soon-to-be ex-husband Larry Feldman, but was unable to investigate it due to a gag order imposed by the judge.
To help her gain custody and hopefully Lindstrom's affections, Webb hired Westchester County Police Department officer Michael Stovic to murder Larry at their son's bar mitzvah. His involvement was discovered by Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames. His attorney attempted to have him put in a psychiatric hospital, but Goren was able to prove that his love did not make him crazy. {CI: Crazy)
