Quotes[]

Cragen: We couldn't keep him. Not our fault.
Stabler: Want to tell the victim that?

Cragen: You move slow. We go after Cleary off this, he'll be out the door.
Stabler: But not too slow.
Cragen: Well, move slow as fast as you can.

[after listening to the 911 call]
Benson: So, maybe two witnesses.
Stabler: Three, if you count the dog.

[Benson and Stabler interview a newsstand owner who saw the woman who anonymously reported a rape in progress from a payphone]
Benson: Could you describe her to a police sketch artist?
George: I didn't get a look at her face. I was too busy trying to get Ginger into the car.
Stabler: Do you remember what she was wearing?
George: Oh, yeah. A black sweater and black slacks and thong panties.
Benson: You didn't get a look at her face, but you know she was wearing thong panties?
George: I saw the panty-line. She had a nice ass which was more interesting to me then her face. [Benson and Stabler both throw him a "give me a break" look] I'm an ass man! I don't apologize for it.

Harper Anderson: Have some wine.
Stabler: We're working.
Harper Anderson: 6:00 P.M. Workday's done. You can have a glass of wine.

Harper: I don't expect anything from you.
Benson: We did everything that we could. You couldn't ID him, so we couldn't hold him.
Harper: You could have followed him. You knew he would rape again.
Benson: I'd like to follow every guy that I know that has a propensity to rape.
Harper: Poor police. So overworked!
Benson: Harper, you're not equipped to deal with this.
Harper: I'm equipped. I don't approach him. I'm doing what any private investigator would do and I don't need a license to do it for myself.
Benson: You're harassing his wife.
Harper: Give me a break! She's enabling a rapist. And you're too busy to deal with him, so I will.

Kenneth Cleary: Every time a woman is raped you're going to come to me?
Stabler: Not every time, no.
Kenneth Cleary: [about Harper] How long do I have to bear the brunt of this woman forgetting to take her lithium? She's obviously damaged.

Kenneth Cleary: [to Munch and Fin outside a train station] What's the agenda here, gentlemen? You trying to make me crazy?
Tutuola: Hell, no. Way too late for that.
Kenneth Cleary: And you are?
Tutuola: The knot in the pit of your stomach.
Kenneth Cleary: Hate to disappoint you, but I don't mind the company - or the attention.
Munch: So there's no need to ask, "Is this how you like it?"

Stabler: [through the Cleary's front door] Mrs. Cleary, Detective Stabler.
Meredith Cleary: I don't want to talk to you.
Stabler: Mrs. Cleary, rape victims aren't just the women who are attacked. Rape victims include their families and the rapist's families...
Meredith Cleary: [opens the door] I am not a victim and I don't want you standing on my stoop shouting "rape" through my door.
Stabler: Yes, ma'am.

Harper: You think I'm Velma Vigilante stalking Cleary, waiting for the perfect moment to shoot him? That's not who I am.
Benson: You're not the same person I knew six months ago.
Harper: I was a rape victim when you met me. I finally have control over my life back. I'm not interested in revenge. I'm not even interested in justice anymore.
Benson: Then why follow Cleary?
Harper: Because I'm afraid of him and he's the last thing I'm afraid of. If I can get over that, I will have my life back completely.

Harper Anderson: You're going to burn in Hell.
Mr. Klein: I'm Jewish, Miss Anderson. There is no Hell.

Benson: Harper's taking control of her own life.
Stabler: Oh, please.

Background information and notes[]

  • This is the only SVU episode to have a "Part 2" included in the title. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Closure (Part I) is a season one episode with the same characters.
  • Harper Anderson uses a 14-round magazine for her .50AE Desert Eagle on the firing range.
  • The alleged 14 round magazine in the pistol range scene was flush with the butt of the pistol.  A 14 round .50 AE Desert Eagle magazine, if they existed, would stick several inches below the butt of the gun as the Desert Eagles utilize single stack magazines.
  • The 8 round magazine is for the .41 and .44 magnum Desert Eagles; the native magazine capacity of the .50 AE Desert Eagle is 7.
  • Goof: When Mrs. Cleary is on the phone with her husband in the interview room, her reflection from the mirror behind Alex shows that she is facing Alex. When the camera is on Mrs. Cleary, her back is to Alex.
