Diego Benitez is a young Honduran boy living in Manhattan with his mother Jennifer. Their green cards expiring led them to turning to the product trials of EHD Associates Incorporated, where they were exposed to dangerous pesticides to test health effects. Not only were they easy as test subjects because of their low income and immigration status, but Diego suffered the worst effects of the sprays from developing cancer from breathing in the nerve gases in the pesticides.
When consultant Seth Millstead was arrested for child porn once caught having photos of Diego in his underwear, the gas lines were flipped and the Benitezes and other tenants were nearly poisoned to death, along with Detective Benson. The doctor starting the trials, Roger Hanley, was caught and forced to pay for damages to all the families in the trails. The Benitezes were allowed to stay in America, and Benson joined Diego in some games to celebrate. (SVU: "Loophole")
