Eli Peter Madison is a gay, cross-dressing millionaire who was the prime suspect in the disappearance of his second ex-wife Caroline, and the murder and dismemberment of his neighbor Roger Barry.
There was no evidence to implicate him in Caroline's disappearance, while he was acquitted for second-degree murder in relation to the death of Barry. However, a follow-up investigation found Madison responsible for the New Mexico death of his friend and lover Dwayne Evans, who would have corroborated an alibi he had for Caroline's disappearance.
Madison was convicted of second-degree murder in relation to Caroline's disappearance. He was then extradited to New Mexico and convicted of Evans' murder as well. (L&O: "Hands Free")
