Summary[]
A convicted sex offender escapes from prison and flees to New York to seek revenge on his stepson, who had testified against him. Mike claims that Lee is making this all up and wants to prove his innocence.
Plot[]
Jeremy is brought in by Tutuola and voices how this whole situation is bogus, before coming to face to face with Eckerson who he promises to sue for brutality. However, the latter is not fazed, and Benson reveals that his credibility is gone because Lee has told them everything. Seeing his cousin, Lee voices his anger at what he did. At first, Jeremy is confident that they will not be able to pin this on him because of Lee previously accusing his stepfather. Lee reveals that he feels ashamed for accusing the latter and wishes he had told the truth. Seeing this, Jeremy makes a pathetic excuse that they were just kids messing around while Benson admonishes him for messing around with the life of an innocent man. Jeremy is then taken away by Fin.
That night, Eckerson tells Benson that Michael's mother will get probation for her role in the escape and says if Michael recovers that he will not have to worry about going back to prison because the charges have been dropped while Benson is relieved to hear this. Eckerson tries to reconcile with Benson by asking her to drinks but she declines, as she states what they had was in the past, as Eckerson understands but they part on good terms.
Much later, Benson goes to the hospital and visits Michael who has regained consciousness and asks how he is doing. He voices how he wishes the bullet had killed him and states that he can't go back to prison, as Benson informs him of the good news that Lee's cousin Jeremy has been identified as his real rapist and was arrested, as well as the fact that Michael won't go back to prison for his escape. Michael is happy to hear this even more so to hear that he will reunite with his mother and son Danny who are on the way.

Quotes[]
- Cragen: Elliot, how do you know Eckerson?
- Stabler: Before Andy went Federal, he was NYPD. Oh, and he also used to date Olivia.
- Andy Eckerson: [to Olivia] You know, I don't just kick doors down. I can actually talk to people.
- Benson: God, you're even more cynical than I remember.
- Eckerson: Why, because I chase criminals and you baby-sit victims?
- Benson: You know, even when you were a detective, it was never about the victims. It's always been about the rush with you.
- Eckerson: You liked it when you first met me.
- Benson: Yeah, 'till I realized it would put you in a body bag.
- Eckerson: What the hell's she doing? She's going to get herself killed.
- Cragen: She's connecting.
- Lee Healy: Mom, it's not your fault.
- Carin Healy: Yes, it is. I raised a son with... no heart.
- [as he is arrested for the rape]
- Jeremy: This is wrong. I didn't do anything!
- Tutuola: You obstructed justice, hindering prosecution, plus you're a lyin' piece of crap, but we're not gonna charge you with that one.
- Michael Baxter: Det. Benson.
- Benson: How you doin'?
- Michael Baxter: Not too bad, considering I got a hole in my chest. Kind of wish the bullet had hit my heart. I can't go back to prison.
- Benson: You're not. We know that you didn't rape Lee. It was his cousin Jeremy.
- Michael Baxter: You can prove it?
- Benson: Already have. You're going to be a free man, Mike. Your mother is on her way over here. So is Carin, who's bringing Danny. She wants him to get to know his father.
