Samuel "Sam" Casey is a junior detective sergeant with the London Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division in Law & Order: UK. He is the successor to DS Matt Devlin and is portrayed by Paul Nicholls. A headstrong young detective sergeant with a strong sense of justice. Sam was brought in from another station to investigate the shooting of DS Matt Devlin and chooses to stay on as DS Ronnie Brooks' new partner. Like Matt he has the tendency to be over-zealous and hot-blooded at times but is usually reigned in by Ronnie. He is quick-thinking and has the ability to connect with people, which greatly aids his interrogations. In the episode "Survivor's Guilt," it is revealed that he has a son.
