Elaine Stritch (2 February, 192517 July, 2014) was an actress who played Lanie Stieglitz in the Law & Order episodes "Point of View" and "Working Mom."

Stritch married American Actor John Bay in London, England, in 1973. They lived in London for 10 years. Stritch appeared in "Company" in 1972 in London, followed by many other plays, and the Television Series "Two's Company", with Donald Sinden.

Elaine Stritch had a long and successful career in Theater, Television. Radio and Film in the USA, the UK, France and Italy.

In 1993, Stritch won an Emmy Award for her appearance in the episode "Point of View." Judith Light was also nominated, but lost to Stritch.

Stritch had a huge success in her one woman show Elaine Stritch at Liberty, for which she won a Tony Award in 2002 for Best Special Theatrical Event, and a PrimeTime Emmy award for Individual Performance - Variety or Music Program, again for "Elaine Stritch At Liberty", HBO.

In later years Ms. Stritch performed many times in Cabaret in the Cafe Carlyle, at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan. She also had a recurring role in 30 Rock, as Colleen, mother of Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin).

In 2014, Stritch was the subject of the documentary Elaine Stritch; Shoot Me.

After a career of almost seven decades, Stritch left New York in 2013 to return to her hometown, Birmingham MI.

On July 17, 2014, Stritch died in Birmingham, Michigan of natural causes at age 89.
