Captain Lowell Harris was a prison guard at Sealview Corrections Facility and a prime suspect in the rapes of numerous prisoners.

History[]

Harris violated and took advantage of several prisoners at Sealview, including Risa Tyler.

When he raped Risa's daughter Ashley Tyler, he went to the hospital she was at and pretended to be a cop to recover the rape kit to avoid being discovered. He later murdered Risa and staged her death as a suicide.

After Olivia Benson went undercover in the facility to prove he did the crimes, Harris rubbed against and brutalized her, which almost led to him orally raping her. However, Detective Tutuola, who was also working undercover, stopped him from advancing just as Harris was about to rape Benson. Later, during interrogation, the prison issued an attorney for him and got the charges dropped, since he was unaware that Benson was a cop.

However, Ashley identified a mole on his penis, which she couldn't have possibly known unless he showed her, and which Benson was aware of from her own near-rape. While continuing his rounds as a guard and bullying the inmates, he was confronted by Detectives Stabler and Benson. Harris was shocked when they charged him for raping Ashley and the warden supported them arresting him. Watching this, the inmates were pleased with his arrest and cheered on the detectives for doing so.

Dr. Melinda Warner found the mole on Harris just where Ashley described. She said that she would amplify the picture for the jury. Therefore, Harris was sentenced to life in prison for all the rapes, Ashley's mother's rape-murder, and the physical and sexual assault of a police officer. (SVU: "Undercover")
