Quotes[]

Benson: Don't people have sex in bed anymore?
Stabler: Apparently not.
Benson: The Earth must have moved.
Stabler: And he saw stars.

Tutuola: I'm not staying in here with all these cancer-causing particles flying around.
Munch: Stop worrying. As an African-American you're statistically far more likely to die of diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease.
Tutuola: Or a bullet.

[When Fin comes into the squad room wearing up a doctor's mask]
Munch: What's up, Doc?
Tutuola: Not taking any chances.

Munch: Maybe I should become an escort.
Tutuola: Don't quit your day job.

Munch: Everybody has fantasies. Most of them don't run amok. You know, guy wants to sleep with Miss October. His wife wants to spend 45 minutes with the buff construction worker she sees outside her office window.

Leslie DeSantis: [about her escort business] I provide companionship.
Cabot: You are nothing but a high-priced pimp and like a pimp, you use violence to keep your stable in line.

Darlene Sutton: Can I go home now?
Stabler: You're not going home, Darlene. You're going to jail.
Darlene Sutton: I can't go to jail. The inmates, the guards. What would they do to me? [holds Stabler's hand] You will protect me, won't you?

Background information and notes[]

  • A folly, in more vintage language, is a venue of theatrical entertainment with extravagantly flashy female performers, which is likely a jab alluding toward the male prostitution in the episode. It is also spelled and pronounced like the psychological disorder Skoda mentions that the criminals had, folie à deux.
  • This is actress Patricia Kalember's first appearance in a Special Victims Unit episode. In this episode she played Leslie DeSantis, but in the following episodes she would play recurring character Judge Taten.
  • This is actor J.K. Simmons' last appearance as Dr. Emil Skoda in an episode from Special Victims Unit. He would continue to play the role on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
