Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight is the Squad Commander of the Intelligence Section of the Chicago Police Department, stationed at the 21st District.

History

It is common knowledge throughout the department that Voight is a suspected dirty cop. It is also known that Voight and his friend Alvin Olinsky murdered a man named Browning after he killed Olinsky's partner. (CPD: "Different Mistakes", "The Docks") In 2012, then-Detective Voight was arrested by Detective Antonio Dawson for trying to have Chicago Firefighter Matthew Casey injured or killed, but he was released in 2013 and reinstated as a Sergeant and assigned command of Intelligence on the condition that he work with Internal Affairs to bring down heavy hitters in the Chicago crime world.

In 2014, Sgt. Voight and his Intelligence Squad teamed up with the Manhattan Special Victims Unit when Detectives Odafin Tutuola and Amanda Rollins travel to Chicago to track down a serial rapist. In November 2014, Voight and Intelligence work with Sergeant Olivia Benson and her squad to take down a cross-country pedophile ring. In April 2015, a New York cold case heats up in Chicago when a suspect previously tracked by Benson and Stabler in 2004 begins a spree that starts in Chicago and ends in New York.

During their team ups, Voight has struck up a friendship with Sergeant Benson, despite her threatening to arrest him for his brutal interrogation methods.
