Homicide Department

A Homicide Department is usually located within a precinct or homicide squad.

The Homicide Department in Law & Order is located at the 27th Precinct, and is part of the New York City Police Department.

On Law & Order it is common that the detectives also investigate other cases, like kidnappings and rape, but in the real world these cases are handled by other units and divisions.
