The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) was a part of the United States Department of Justice and handled legal and illegal immigration and naturalization. It ceased to exist on 1 March 2003. Most of its functions were transferred to three new agencies within the newly created Department of Homeland Security, mostly the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

- CI: "World's Fair" - INS is said to have picked up Tariq Amir. This isn't possible, INS was dissolved into several different agencies when Homeland Security was formed in 2003, the episode takes place in 2007, 4 years after it ceased to exist.
