Janette Grayson is a businesswoman whose false reports about child welfare endangered several lives.
After a young boy is found alone in a bodega, the detectives wonder how he got out by himself and where his parents were. The case turns more disturbing when his sister Keesha is found malnourished and unconscious in an animal cage. Keesha later dies in hospital, and her mother is serving eight years in prison for her death.
Janette had negligently written false reports about children's welfare and, alongside several co-workers, is charged with, and subsequently pleads guilty to, second-degree manslaughter in Keesha's death.
