Kathryn Elsbeth Erbe is an actress who is known for her portrayal of Lieutenant Alexandra Eames in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She reprised the role as Eames in the Fourteenth Season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episodes "Acceptable Loss" and "Poisoned Motive".
Erbe made her television debut starring in the short-lived sitcom Chicken Soup (with Lynn Redgrave). Erbe has starred in many films, including What About Bob? (with Julie Hagerty), D2: The Mighty Ducks (with Elden Henson and Carsten Norgaard), Stir of Echoes and the independent films Dream with the Fishes, Love from Ground Zero and Entropy. Erbe also portrayed Shirley Bellinger on the HBO series Oz with Christopher Meloni, Lee Tergesen, Dean Winters, B.D. Wong, Lance Reddick, Mike Doyle, and J.K. Simmons to wide critical acclaim.
She also made a guest appearance on Homicide: Life on the Street in the sixth season episode "All Is Bright".
From 1993 to 2006, Erbe was married to Terry Kinney, who guest-starred on the Law & Order episode "Driven".
