Kristi McGarrett is the younger sister of Rachel McGarrett, whose boyfriend Dan Friedich raped her.

One night, Gregory Searle broke into the apartment and kidnapped Rachel. Rachel's boyfriend, Friedich was revealed to have sexsomnia, so raped Kristi until he was stopped by her hitting him in the head and calling the police. She was shaken by her ordeal and by her sister's disappearance.
When a remorseful Friedich attempted to apologize and explain himself to Kristi, she voiced her anger at him before her father appeared to pick her up and attacked Friedich but Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson intervened while explaining his medical condition that made him unaware of his actions and how it was verified by his doctor. This news revealed that he couldn't be prosecuted, Friedich was released. Kristi and her father were horrified to hear this, before leaving together.
Much later, her sister was found and taken to the hospital but died from her injuries, to the devastation of her and her father. Gregory Searle. (SVU: "Avatar")
