The State of Maine is the most northern state of the United States that borders the Atlantic Ocean, New Hampshire and Canada. Maine was part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until 1820 when it voted to secede from Massachusetts. On March 15, 1820, it was admitted to the Union as the 23rd state under the Missouri Compromise.
Rick Morrissey had intended to travel to Maine at the behest of his partner in crime Jay Lippman, who wished him to leave New York City so he would be unable to reveal any aspects of the crime to the NYPD. Unfortunately, Morrissey's plan fell through, and he returned to New York City. He was subsequently murdered by Lippman. (CI: "Yesterday")
