Mia Van Wagner is a teenage girl who ran away from home to live across the country with her pedophile boyfriend Erich Tassig.

Her mother forbade her from using the Internet so Mia got online with the help of Samantha Gilligan, her close friend. This allowed her to find an adult boyfriend, Erich Tassig. She would make frequent contact with him and over time fell in love with him, despite her age. Tassig manipulated her into running away to be with him far from the grips of her mother. He arranged for his acquaintance Ron Crowley to supply Mia with a passport, so that she could leave New York and head to Prague.
Her case came into the attention of Manhattan Special Victims Unit after a double murder occurred and discovered a child pornography site. It was through there the SVU found Mia and interviewed her friend and mother who were both stunned to discover what happened to her.
Crowley was apprehended and detective Elliot Stabler travel to Prague to retrieve Mia and bring her home. She was found with Tassig and rescued while Tassig escaped.
When she was questioned, she refused to answer the detectives. She also denied that her boyfriend would ever try to hurt her, despite him making her take drugs. However, she was in disbelief to hear that Tassig had taken and uploaded pictures of her on a child pornography site, which was how the detectives found her. She is devastated that Tassig did this and begged the detectives to bring the pictures down because she did not want her loved ones to see them. They promised if she tells them where Tassig is and she reveals where he might be.
After Tassig was detained, Mia was brought back home and as mentioned by Detective Stabler was not very happy about it but adjusting. (SVU: Pandora)
