Monica Johnson was the first woman to be executed in the state of New York.

- The fact that Johnson was the first woman executed in the Law & Order franchise makes the whole discussion in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit fourth season episode "Chameleon" unnecessary. In that episode the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has doubts whether or not to execute female serial killer Maggie Peterson as the first woman in the state.
