The National Space Agency, or NSA, is an agency of the United States government responsible for the exploration of space. They conducted missions using the Space Shuttle and other vehicles for the benefit of science and improved life on Earth.
The NSA maintained a database of its astronauts' DNA, for purposes of identification in the event of a major catastrophe. During a murder investigation of one of its astronauts, the NSA was initially reluctant to provide this database to the NYPD's Major Case Squad. Captain Daniel Ross, however, contacted a reporter friend of his who criticized the NSA for doing so, and the agency relented. (CI: Rocket Man)
