Neil Patrick Harris is an actor who played John Tagman in the Law & Order: Criminal Intent season four episode "Want".

Harris is best known for his roles as the teenage doctor Doogie Howser, M.D., the womanizing Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, the very intelligent Colonel Carl Jenkins in Starship Troopers, Dr. Horrible of the web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and as himself in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and its sequel Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.

Harris made a guest appearance as Alan Schack in the season five episode "Valentine's Day" from Homicide: Life on the Street .
