When the CEO of a private military contractor is found assaulted, the DA's office joins the SVU detectives to investigate a motive with international ties.
Summary[]
The powerful CEO of a private military contractor is confronted by protesters and later found drugged and sexually assaulted in a park. Detectives Benson and Amaro begin their investigation but find the victim unwilling to cooperate. As the SVU squad and the district attorney's office explore the motives behind the attack, a much larger crime and conspiracy in Iraq is unveiled.
Plot[]
Former Army ranger William Rand, who is now the powerful CEO of Battle Tested Security -- the largest private military contractor in the world -- is confronted by protesters, and later found drugged and sexually assaulted in a park.
Benson and Amaro find Rand and his attorney, Virginia Pell, unwilling to cooperate. As the SVU and the district attorney's office investigate, they question Donald O'Keefe, a former marine who worked in special ops. Donald explains that his daughter, Cory Green, worked for Rand's company in Basra, Iraq, and about a month after she started working for the company, four men who worked with her at the company drugged her, and brutally gang-raped her.
Cory reported it to the nearest base commander, who told her that he couldn't do anything because the rapists were not in the military. Donald and Cory tried, for four years, with the State and Justice Departments, to get something done, but the Justice Department turned them away, like everyone else did; it seems that no one wants to take on Rand and his company.
Donald admits that he shoved a baton up Rand's rear-end in order to make him think about Cory's rape every time he sits down. Benson and Amaro find themselves searching for Cory's rapists, and they're introduced to new Executive A.D.A. David Haden, who seems to take a liking to Benson, as does she to him.
Rand is willing to do anything to keep the rape covered up. Witnesses start to lie, suspects refuse to turn on one another, and people start to get seriously injured. Benson's apartment is broken into, two witnesses are assaulted, and another one ends up killed, in a series of harrowing incidents engineered by Rand and Pell.
Amaro starts believing that his wife Maria and their 5-year-old daughter Zara might be among those that Rand is targeting as the SVU tries to get justice for Cori.

Quotes[]
- Virginia Pell: [to Olivia and Amaro about William Rand's assault] I appreciate your concern, detectives, but we'll take it from here. We have our own team of investigators.
- Benson: We don't subcontract our investigations.
- Virginia Pell: You do understand the delicacy of the situation. We need to control the publicity here.
- Benson: All of our cases are sensitive.
- Amaro: We need your cooperation unless you want us to start issuing subpoenas.
- Tutuola: [to Donald O'Keefe] Look, dude, we're not here to play "Let's Make a Deal" with you.
- [about Donald O'Keefe]
- Benson: He's not making it up; the part about the daughter.
- Cragen: It doesn't mitigate. Assault, kidnapping. We're not here to make deals with vigilantes. There are legal avenues for settling scores.
- Amaro: All of which he tried, Cap.
- Amaro: [about Rand] He called, asked to come in, then tanked the I.D.?
- Benson: Well, he got out of there fast enough once he saw Donald.
- Amaro: He could have just been eyeballing Donald so his guys could take care of him later.
- Benson: Maybe Rand doesn't want us looking into what happened over there.
- Cragen: Neither do I. It's not our concern.
- Benson: Hold on, captain. Let us at least talk to his daughter.
- Amaro: All due respect, this speaks to O'Keefe's motive. It's part of this case too.
- Cragen: Just remember which crime you're investigating here.
- Cori Green: [to Olivia and Amaro] I've been waiting four years for justice. Then my dad loses it and you guys show up.
- Cori Green: It's not just what these guys did to me. It's that they knew they could get away with it.
- David Haden: I'm a second-generation D.A. I'm used to cops giving me the stink eye.
- Donald O'Keefe: You know, all my life I've tried to do the right thing. I signed up for the Marines as soon as I got out of school. When my country asked me to fight, I went. And I confessed and was ready to do my time because I trusted you people to get justice for my daughter.
- Amaro: I know how you feel, Mr. O'Keefe. I have a daughter too.
- Donald O'Keefe: Really? Does your daughter flinch when you try to hug her? Wake up screaming in the night? Was your daughter raped so brutally that she'll never be able to have children?
- Amaro: We're gonna get these guys, Mr. O'Keefe.
- Donald O'Keefe: Prove it.
- William Rand: Ask yourself, counselor, is this the battle you want? Because war is my business. And business is good.
- Benson: So right about now you're asking yourself, "What have we gotten ourselves into?"
- David Haden: You kidding? I live for this.
- Cori Green: [while on the phone with her father] They got 'em, Daddy. They got 'em all. We did it.
