Officer Ray Wiznesky is the stepfather and killer of Ashley Gardella. He murdered Ashley because of her history as a wild child, which got in the way of his priorities of his wife and her mother Joyce dying of cancer, while also having to care for her stepsister Emily.
Ray wanted to die for his family to get his pension, so when Goren confronted him, Ray planned to shoot him to eliminate a witness before committing suicide. Gores and backup with him, so they attempted to arrest Ray after disarming him. However, he grabbed another cop’s gun and killed himself in front of Joyce and Emily. (CI: "Siren Call)
