Plot[]

TV news reporter Sarah Logan refuses to let her rape from three months ago get her down, and she talks about her experiences on the air, which leads to the arrest of one of the rapists, Mark Krieger. Munch, who has been handling the case, finds himself forming a bond with Sarah as the SVU tries to locate the other rapist. When Sarah gets killed by a bomb in her apartment, Munch becomes even more determined to get justice for Sarah.

After the detectives find the other rapist, Tommy McConaugh, Krieger, who had been released on bail, gets blown up in an SUV. The detectives believe that the bomber is someone who's obsessed with Sarah, and has killed Sarah for talking about the rape on TV, and killed Krieger for raping her. The SVU identifies the bomber as William Lexner, a delusional narcissist who has tried to join the FDNY (the fire department), but has been rejected multiple times, and he thinks he has enemies preventing him from being hired by the fire department.

Quotes[]

[after Elliot requests a list of prisoners who had contact with a rapist]
Prison Official: Do you want a list or a disk?
Stabler: How many names are we talking about?
Prison Official: 6,322.
Stabler: Is there any way to separate them by age or race?
Prison Official: No.
Stabler: Disk.

[prepping Sara for the trial]
Benson: Don't use euphemisms, say penis, vagina, intercourse. If you're not comfortable with any of these, call John, call me, we'll work you through it until you're completely comfortable.
Munch: If they sense you're uneasy, they'll use it against you, they'll come at you five different ways to see if your answers stay the same.

[Sara Logan has asked Munch out to dinner]
Munch: All right, I'll go. Just don't say "bribe" to a cop in an open courthouse.

Bomb Squad officer: I don't think she suffered much.
Munch: She suffered.
Officer: I mean she was killed instantly.
Munch: I know what you mean.

Munch: You got a last name for this gas-pumping wiseguy?
P.K.: Something... Irish. I don't know.
Jeffries: There are, like, two million Irish in New York, P.K.
P.K.: Good luck. Hey, um, if he's the guy, do I get the reward?
Munch: Here, go buy yourself a blunt.
