Rita Colino is the aged widower of career criminal Jack Colino.

She never knew for decades Jack was murdered when he tried to kill his baby from an affair, Sheila Tierney DuMont. Rita knew Jack had affairs, only caring that he just came back to her every night. Jack killed Suzanne Mollinax, his mistress who sired Sheila with him and knew about his spree of robberies, to silence her and not raise a child, framing Mike Mollinax for the crime because of his domestic abuse. His accomplice, Judson Tierney, killed Jack and hid his corpse to save Sheila's life and raise her.
Rita knew something was wrong when Jack didn't come home, assuming he just ran off with his loot and other women. When Judson was confessing his entire history of crimes and more, Rita was tracked, and Jack was eventually found dead. She was shocked to find out the truth, after hating Jack all the years he was missing. The rest of the timeline of events came together, with Judson dying after he got his entire truth out and Mike was exonerated of murder. (SVU: "Scheherazade")
