Shannon Browning is the ex-fiancé/victim of Eric Lutz.

History[]

Lutz picked her up at Grand Central Station one day, telling her that it would be an amazing day. Lutz proposed with the most gorgeous ring Browning saw and she accepted his proposal before they went out to dinner.

However, when she and Lutz returned to his brownstone, he repeatedly raped and brutalized her while trying to provoke her terror. Calling off the engagement immediately, Browning was threatened with her life by Lutz to keep her silent for nearly a year. In that time frame, Lutz would rape four more women after drugging them, so they didn't remember, all out of refusing to accept rejection.

When Lutz was tried but acquitted out of his attorney's blackmail, the video of her rape found showed the engagement ring, so the Special Victims detective Benson set up a sting to get answers from Lutz. They tracked his call to Browning once walking away, where he threatened to kill her if she talked. The detectives found her, and she confidently testified against his defense about the rape she suffered after hearing Lutz raped other women. Lutz sneered at her on how he wanted her as a "loving wife" and not an "ungrateful bitch", but she angrily shamed him for his misogynistic sexual violence towards her and his other victims, with two of Lutz' rape victims standing with her. When Lutz's attorney took a plea, three women and Benson all walked away. Browning calmly and silently ignored Lutz' protests to be complimented for the rapes as they all left. (SVU: "Smut")
