Simon Fife is a pedophile who made a false confession to the long-unsolved murder of child actress Amberleigh Harner.

When Fife is arrested on child pornography charges, he claims to have murdered Harner, attracting the attention of Detectives Goren and Eames. They interrogate him, and they both believe he is lying, even though he can supply them with information about the murder that the police kept from the media. Goren theorizes that he is making the confession to get attention and live out a fantasy about "making love" to Harner. Eventually, Goren and Eames find the real culprit, and Fife is sent to prison for the child porn charges. (CI: "Masquerade")
