Dr. Stephen Elroy was one of the prime suspects in the murders of three pregnant women and Lili Denkova in New York City, alongside accomplice Anton Petrov. He was blackmailed into participating in the baby smuggling scam initially when Denkova discovered he was double billing his clients.
Elroy received shadow counsel after arraignment to protect him from Petrov. Having been granted immunity, he confessed to his role in the crimes in the judge's chambers and disclosed the location of Lili Denkova's body.
All of the charges against him were dismissed, and he is now in witness protection. (SVU: "Ace")
