Quotes
Elliot: Patrol dumped this one on us, why? Because a whack job was found naked in the shower?
Olivia: Elliot!
Elliot: (cuts Liv off) Last week it was because a guy had his 'johnson' out taking a piss in the alley. What's next? Fido puppy humping in the dog run?
Olivia: Elliot! I called you in.
Elliot: Why because your "Spidey Sense" tells you she was a rape victim?
Olivia: *sighs* Because she's your daughter... (shows him the found drivers card)
Elliot: Kathleen!
(Kathleen has just been found on a swing set, wearing only a stolen shower curtain)
- Kathleen Stabler: Hi Olivia! Want to play?"
- Det. Benson: I don't think that's such a good idea right now, sweetie...
“ | That's the price we pay for greatness. | ” |
–Bernadette Stabler, on the depression that accompanies bipolar disorder |
- Elliot Stabler: What the hell just happened?
- Olivia Benson: Maybe God remembered how cute you were as a carrot.
Carolyn Maddox: Your new ADA's a smart cookie. Looney bin's the safest place to hide from the long arm of the law. I have to say, Elliot, I'm surprised you called me.
Elliot Stabler: My daughter needed a shark, you're the deadliest one I know.
Carolyn Maddox: Thanks?
Background information and notes
- This is the first time we meet Detective Elliot Stabler's mother Bernadette. His father's name was Joe.
- Unlike her predecessors, ADA Kim Greylek doesn't handle arraignments. The two arraignments in this episode were handled by another ADA.
- Kathleen Stabler is nineteen years old in this episode.
- After Kathleen is diagnosed with bipolar disorder after her OD, it is referred to as BPD. However, BPD is actually meant to stand for "Borderline Personality Disorder", which is a completely different condition (though bipolar disorder may be also be present).
- Kathleen returns in Crush having apparently been successfully treated and is shown to be grateful for her arrest. At Oliva Benson's request she speaks to another troubled teen and uses her own story to convince the girl to reveal who assaulted her.
