I'm not good at adding things to Wikis, but this episode is based on the true story of the George Roach scandal at HIllsdale College in Hillsdale Michigan. George Roach (president of Hillsdale College) had an affair with his son's fiancee. She committed suicide in the Hillsdale Arboretum. Midvale College is the name of the college in the show, but it is most definitely based on the story at Hillsdale. It happened in '97 I think. I was friends and went to school with George Roach's younger son, so I remember the story well. There are references that could be used to expand the article - I'm just not good at that kind of stuff. CNN was in town when it happened.
