Teddy Winnock is a teenager who runs a child pornography website called "Teddy's Treehouse".

Background[]

When he was eight years old, Teddy was molested by his father, Gregory Hensal, who manipulated him into believing that the abuse was an expression of love. Eventually, his father was arrested for his crimes after his mother (who was pregnant) caught him in the act. Afterwards, his mother changed Teddy and Jake's last name to distance them from their father.

By the age of sixteen, Teddy was warped by his father's actions. While he resents his father, he began filming himself performing sexual acts and broadcasting it over the web for a customer base of adult men.

SVU detectives discover Jake may have been abused and suspects his father. The detectives spoke to his Teddy who seemingly did not care if his brother was abused and says it was his fault for seeing their father. However, Hensal was proven innocent after they locate Teddy 's DNA on Jake and found out he has a child pornography website when they move to arrest him for molesting his younger brother, Jake.

The investigation is further complicated when Teddy's website is exposed by one of his classmates and his reputation sinks further. Teddy is reduced to fighting the classmate before he is arrested. He says that he has not done anything wrong, that he was showing his brother that he loved him, and that he is an entrepreneur who can do as he likes with his own body. Detective Stabler and Dr. George Huang believe that Teddy can still be helped, and advocate for him to be charged as a minor and get counseling.

ADA Casey Novak, however, threatens to charge him as an adult and put him on the sex offender registry unless he gives up his clients. Despite his lawyer Trevor Langan requesting he take the deal, Teddy refuses. In his denial, he says that his customers are his friends, and he cannot betray their trust. Teddy then asks his subscribers to help him escape to an apartment at Eagles Point.

He prepared to make one last video, before going off the grid until one of his customers drugs him and takes him to a house, where he subjects Teddy to his personal pleasure. Detectives Stabler and Tutuola find the area with Stabler viciously beating up his abductor. Teddy was found with a gag, showing signs of assault before he is rescued.

At the hospital, a recovering Teddy apologizes to Stabler and realizes that his subscribers see him only as a sex object, and that he actually hurt his brother, and he subsequently gives up his clients. After some prodding from Benson and Stabler, Donna Geysen agrees to grant Teddy immunity in exchange for naming his subscribers on the condition that he gets help. (SVU: "Web")
