The United States Navy is the naval force of the United States of America. The Marine Corps serves as the land infantry for the Navy. Investigations involving the Navy and Marines are run by the Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS).
The history of the Navy began in August 1775 as the Continental Navy during the Revolutionary War.
