Willie Tivnan is a convicted robber and cleared suspect in the murder of Alan Ralston and the assault of his wife Janet.

History[]

Willie had a record for armed robbery with knives and hotel burglaries, his stints being as early as juvie. After his final release, he decided to open his own vending stand for books and magazines on the street, as it was a great job for him to support himself from that he didn't need a license for, as well as a great for his reformation to return to society. He didn't stop offending, as he was guilty of eight muggings at knifepoint. He was inconveniently at a parking garage where Alan and Janet were shot that night, not far from a police precinct. Willie was suspected due to his priors, but he was only smoking crack and left his pipe behind.

Willie was ID'd by the mugging victims and arraigned on the charges regarding the Ralstons, but he proved to be a valuable witness because he lost the pipe due to the lights being cut before the shots were fired. This revealed the shooter, Janet herself, had an accomplice, Gil Himes, who sabotaged the bulbs for the purpose of the shooting. Despite challenges to his credibility on the stand, Willie's testimony lined up with the facts proving Janet shot Alan, before Himes shot Janet to throw suspicion off her. His cooperation likely resulted in a more merciful conviction and sentencing once the verdicts against Janet and Himes were secured. (L&O: "Happily Ever After")
